More Poetry under ....thoughts

I Don't
The teacher speaks
but I don't care
"Hello" my friend says
but I don't hear

I stare into space
as some might say...
I glance down and turn the page.

If the teacher calls me back,
I'll say, I was in a trance today.

Pay attention my Mom would say
But I'll listen to her another day

I wonder where my Dad is now;
But there is no way to tell

Poetry
by a PHMS student

My Light - a Chain of Thoughts
Thank you for being my shining light,
Thank you for shining so bright,
Thank for guiding my path.

Even when I turned away
You've alsways been there
To brighten my day.

Thank you for giving me
Everything I'll always need.
Thank you for being my light.

I know I have someone there
To talk to in my despair;
But only when you are near
Do I feel the light of love and care.

Thank you for being my light.
Thank you for shining so bright.

One more:

YOU'RE
You're kind and loving
You're someone who cares
You're someone to talk too,
When nobody's there

You listen to me when no one else will
You hear me when I don't speak.

Cooking with Kohstall

Mr. Kohstall's sociology class assisted Mr. Kohstall in creating a nutritional meal in the Prospect Heights Middle School Goal Rush Library May 6, 2010. Mr. Kohstall has been discussing nutrition and individual assessment needs such as BMI (Body Mass Index), life styles, and choices. His class has been using computer based programs to establish and calculate caloric intake and create menus. They have seen videos about options relating to organically produced foods as well as diet control and its importance. They also enjoyed playing computer games based on nutritional options, portion sizes, and setting goals.
